Hope…a different perspective

While many of us have spent the last two weeks wondering what just happened in our world, I have spent the last two weeks really trying to figure out how to communicate exactly how I feel to the people who put their very lives in my trust at Hope Chiropractic Center.

These are uncharted waters for most of us, myself included, and like Mike Tyson says, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Guess what, we just got punched in the mouth.

What followed?

Utter Chaos.

Stores have their shelves cleaned. Community gatherings are closed down. Schools are closed. People are self isolating and wondering what is going to happen next.

Having given up Social Media for Lent, I can only imagine the barrage of arguments that are going on with regards to those who are living their lives as usual vs those who are in isolation for fear of contracting this virus that we know absolutely nothing about.

Then the ripple effect takes place on society and we start to see small businesses closing down because they rely heavily upon events to provide for their family – think about caterers for example.

Society got punched in the mouth and fear is currently winning.

So…what do I have to say?

Where does Hope fall into this equation?

Hope will stay open.

Hope has committed to serving the community of Southlake and the surrounding areas.

Hope is going no where in the face of this crisis because it is our commitment to you to ensure that you have the best possible opportunity to express optimal health!

In the face of this fear, the best thing we can do is unplug from the news and the social media and the scare tactics implemented to catch our attention and cause a stress reaction.

From my perspective, I want you to know that you are going to be okay.

The greatest stress comes from the interruption of our normal activities.

The greatest reduction in stress comes from you find a solution to the obstacles that prevent you from these normal activities – i.e. – since all the gyms are closed – find a neighbor who has a garage gym and work out together, go on a walk outside even if it is raining, exercise your freedom!

Make sure that you continue to drink plenty of water – if you are patient of mine you know that I recommend a gallon a day.

Spend some time in prayer asking God for peace in this time of crisis.

Take a nap!

Finally, for those of you who are patients of Hope Chiropractic – we are here for you.

  • We have normal office hours.
  • Our table is cleaned after every adjustment.
  • The resting chairs are wiped down after each resting session.
  • Our office has run this way since we opened – nothing has changed because of this fear.

If you find yourself in extreme isolation, give us a call, we will be happy to talk to you about your day and whatever is weighing heavily upon you.

Come up to the office if you just need to get out of the house (or maybe you need to use some toilet paper haha).

While we have metaphorically been punched in the mouth, we aren’t down for the count.

We get up, dust off our knees and shoulders, put our hands back up and get back in the fight.

It is our MISSION to EMPOWER our communities with the confidence of taking ownership of THEIR long term health by instilling belief, building trust, and most importantly….delivering hope.

Hope is…not lost
