Act The Way You Want To Feel.

April, 28, 2025

In my private practice, I am privy to being told dreams and aspirations surrounding health related goals every single day.

My patients unload their burdens at my feet and ask me to help them pursue the restoration of the quality of health they have lost.

Now, I am not sure if you have ever seen someone suffer the agony of a disease that no one else feels but you, but the weight on their face and in their expression of words is something I will never forget.

Fortunately, through the care provided at Hope, we get to walk with them and accompany them on their journey back to health.

One of the challenges I love to present to patients in my office is “tell me something good happening in your life.”

It is amazing to see how many people struggle just to do this simple task

As 21st century people, we are conditioned through social media and 24/7 news to be doom and gloom thinkers.

And doom and gloom thinkers act a specific way and therefore feel a certain way…I like to call it the victim presentation.

Slumped shoulders, rarely make eye contact, frown on the face, moping around.

Everything is negative around them, you can feel it in how they talk, look, and act.

You know exactly what I am talking about…Winnie the Pooh captured it with Eeyore

No wonder they feel terrible.

Instead…by challenging people to find something good, I engage them to change the way they are acting and feeling because they are required to analyze their day or week and share good news.

This simple psychological act is one small way we can immediately change the way we feel by drawing your attention to something that is positive in nature. (call it placebo or whatever you new age crap you want…proof is in the pudding, try it right now)

A bigger task to accomplish would involve you taking a quick audit of the habits of your daily life and ask yourself: “are these helping me feel my very best?”

This could quickly turn into an incredibly long list but I am going to leave with you 5 areas to focus on

  1. Prayer
  2. Nutrition
  3. Sleep
  4. Screen Time
  5. Exercise

I guarantee you that if you have poor habits surrounding anyone in those areas, 90% of the time you are going to feel like garbage, act like garbage, and turn into your own Eeyore for everyone around you.

Instead, take action.

Change your habits so that you have the opportunity to not only feel your very best, but to perform at your very best.

Act the way you want to feel.

Remember…it’s 4:45 AM…no matter how I feel when I start, this one action is guaranteed to shift my brain and body into a space of feeling good…and if you are walking with me, wherever you are in the world, know that I am praying for you.

Since I don’t make posts like this on social media … If there’s someone you know that would benefit from reading this, share it with them so they can start working on making their Monday great again.
