The Biological Shoreline and the Tsunami

November 24, 2025

One of my favorite pieces of art work is entitled “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Hokusai.

In this woodblock print we see a massive wave about to destroy several small boats.

To me, I cannot think of a better image to capture the tsunami that has come to the biological shoreline of our health in the west.

At no moment in time have we been more advanced in technology as a civilization coupled with a downward trend in longevity and an upward trend in morbidity.

Meaning we are living shorter life spans and we are more chronically ill.

Summarized: westerners are suffering from an increase in the so-called disease of civilization.

A recent statistic notes that 1 in 5 deaths globally are due to diet.

The leading causes of death in the west are Heart Disease and Cancer (both of which can be significantly reduced by diet and toxic exposure).

The increase in abundance and technology has created accessibility to an environment of excess.

With on demand access to fast food delivery services, westerns have every excuse in the world to stay hooked to the screen and to be constantly in an overfed lethargic state.

This epidemic of disease is largely brought about due to the lifestyle choices we are consciously making for perceived lack of difficulty.

You want to have a burger – just open up Uber Eats.

You want some chinese food – don’t worry – the door dash is there.

Too tired to go to the grocery store – they can deliver for you.

Normal every day tasks that once required planning and preparation are now done with a phone that you can talk to.

Zero effort required.

Just put your CC information in and we will ensure everything is taken care of.

This slow moving tsunami has been building for years, even decades at this point and we are now starting to see the fruits of it in our daily life.

More than 50% of Americans are Obese.

Approximately 64% of Adult Americans are on more than one prescription drug.

That is 266 MILLION people taking drugs and 171 MILLION people considered obese.

You wonder why the number 1 and 2 cause of death in our country are related?

While 1 in 5 deaths may be due to diet globally, I’d suggest we have a much higher percentage in the United States.

This tsunami of epic proportions is taking its toll on us and our quality of health.

It is time to pause and ask yourself: where do I have the consequences of this storm on my own biological shoreline?

Most of us can stand to fast a few days a week.

Most of us can stand to cut carbohydrates and move to a ketogenic, carnivore style diet with no sugar.

Most of us need to give up alcohol and prescription drugs.

But remember…this didn’t happen overnight.

This was the culmination of choices made over years.

So you will not immediately reclaim your health by suddenly making these changes for 1 day.

You will most likely have to build a tsunami of health within the same time domain to reclaim your birth right of a healthy body.

It all starts with the choices you make and the habits you cultivate today.

Stop contributing to the disease burden with the economy of excess and expediency.

Start building a foundation of health through the choices that are opposite of everything mainstream media sells today.

If you start now, you may be able to stop this tsunami from hitting your shoreline and you will be able to live longer and healthier than many of your peers.

The choice is yours.
