The Tomb was Empty

April 6, 2026

Easter Monday.

I cannot help but think about each of the stories surrounding the Resurrection of Christ.

Every single one of them encounters a space that is empty.

Can you imagine being one of the 12 or even Mary.

Everything that has just happened the last three days leaving a gaping wound on your mind, body, and spirit.

As you approach the tomb on Sunday, expecting to find it as you left it and encounter empty space.

What raw emotion would flood your system?

Fear? Doubt? Anger? Joy? Peace?

I mean it might be a concoction of every single one of them.

And yet, He told us it would happen.

He told us all the events that would take place.

These Truths are just as True today.

He speaks to all of us to show us The Way.

Too often we are distracted by the world trying to tell us the way when all we have to do is look to Him.

Too often we are focused on the empty.

Too often we seek to fill the empty with the noise of the world.

Too often we embrace despair and regret and worldly idols because the discomfort of the Truth smacks us in the face.

On this Easter Monday, maybe you are still encountering the sorrow of Good Friday.

Maybe you are living in agony in the garden.

Maybe you are struck in the paralyzing fear of Saturday not knowing what will happen.

Maybe you are sitting in the empty tomb, not understanding.

No matter where you are, I encourage you to pause for just a moment and realize that all of those things happened for a reason.

The covenant is fulfilled.

Hope did not disappoint.

For today, we Rejoice, because He is Risen.
