Would you trade lives?

September 29, 2025

Stop seeking validation from people you’d never trade lives with.

How many of us have made a  social media post to attempt to get eyes on content?

How many of you have dressed a certain way to shock and awe?

How many of you have gone to the gym wearing as little as possible to show off your physique?

And finally how many of you do this to seek validation from someone whom you:

  1. Know nothing about.
  2. Have never met in your life.
  3. Would never trade lives with.

I’ll raise my hand!

It feels good to turn heads.

It feels even better to get a thousand views on a youtube video.

It makes me believe that I am capable of influencing someone.

But after awhile, I start to wonder to myself:

Why am I posting curated content to get more engagement from an audience I would never trade my life with?

Why would I allow my thoughts to be occupied day in and day out by how many people engaged with my post?

Well because it drives business!

It’s a measurable metric!

It is a way to prove that the money and time I spent on the content has made some small impact!

Hah – the comfortable lies I tell myself and I am sure that you tell yourself too.

Here is the truth: why in the world have we completely lost our mind and changed our entire life to get acceptance on a fabricated world from someone we would never trade lives with.

More often than not, it is an AI bot or some kid hanging out in their mom’s basement who has never done a damn thing with their life.

We need to stop worrying about what people we would never trade lives with think about our decisions, posts and content.

Instead we need to shift our thinking away from validation and into personal excellence.

You see, the only person you should seek approval from is God and after that the rest is a bunch of trash.

A rightly ordered life will naturally attract people to you because of how you choose to live.

A life obsessed with what other people think about you, (especially those you have never met nor will never meet nor whom you would ever trade lives with) will generate a shallow anxiety driven life that will slowly drive you insane and rid you of community.

To reclaim your life you need to start with removing the desire to have social validation for your choices from people you would never trade your life with.

Instead of taking your dreams and vision to social media, take them to prayer.

Instead of airing out your laundry list of problems seeking validation, take them to prayer.

Instead of making every decision in your life based upon some one you would never trade lives with, pause and ask yourself that question:

Is this how I want to live my life?

Instead of seeking to be a social influencer, be who God called you to be in every single facet of your life and you will encounter far greater reward than any like, share or comment could ever generate for you.

Stop seeking validation from someone you would never trade lives with.

Start embracing who God made you to be.
